First fresh water hunt and Back to the field of Barbers

Went out to a lake yesterday and tried out the ctx for the first time.I gave it about an hour before I went back to the Excal. It handled fine as far as not to bouyant but could not get used to the sounds. Now having said this there was all-most nothing there to find so was not the best trial run.But when your short on time you go with what you know best.It looks like I'll be working double shifts over the weekend so it will be next week before I can get out again.Love this detector on land but will take some time for in the water. Got out tonight for an hour or so and got one barber dime near where the two barber quarters came from in with a lot of iron. Grumpy

Nice Barber find! Good luck in the water next time. You might want to build a combined mode with three conductive tones like the Excal has. I may do that myself. At least that seems to be how my excal works when I have ferrous disced out.

I use an open screen mostly open screen 27 line in lakes and I use a combined audio I set nickels and coins to the same sound gold range to a lower tone and the rest a mid range tone iron at the lowest tone. On land run a combined but truly 5 differnt tones 1 for each bin. This works for me I water hunt 3 to 5 times a week during summer months and the CTX is doing very well.

congrats on the barbers HH
