First for me

I have never posted my finds but Sunday I got a first for me and do not hear of many of these being found in NW Ohio. Was hunting a bean fielld where at one time a where a house once was full of iron but got a nice tone and out came what may be a 1/2 reale. It is very worn the other side is smooth but still one of my best fans oldest finds. Also found a couple buttons and a 1860 Indian.

NW Ohio has some really old dirt...it was a big trapping area back in the day...I think they called it the black swamp...very cool find there shortcut!:clapping:
Mud

I did too! I lived west of Toledo, trapped there through the 70's...that NW Ohio fur is good stuff...big muskrats...there were no beaver down there then, now they are everywhere!

Hi Brad, that's a sweet find! We get em here New England and they are prized regardless of condition and value. They had legal tender status in the U.S. until 1857, so I don't think it strange to pop in be in Ohio, just not be as common a find out your way. What were you swinging?
Congrats :clapping:

I found several half reals, and like yours, the ones I found are very well worn. Gotta be some out there in very fine condition.
