Here are the things I found with my new F-75. This machine is awesome. It ran quiet as a mouse with an occasional peep. must of the things were 7" to 12 ".

I don't know if I am using it right but I had it on the following settings:

discim mod
Disc-10
sensitivity-85
notch-1
tone-3H
PF

If anyone has any suggestions, I will gladly listen, and learn

Looks like good settings..most folks use PF mode in the UK..in the US the DE,JE and all metal modes are popular..I will run the sense up till its just a tic unstable back down to smooth out..and when relic hunting use very little disc..
with those finds your doing GREAT !!!!

I've heard the PF mode is the deepest seeking, while the JE (high gain) mode is most sensitive to lower conductives. I wonder is the mode also a high gain mode?
Agree with liquid 1...very nice finds...looks like you're doing everything right. Well done Lt4ever!! Jim.

Lt4ever:

Noticed you mentioned in your settings that you used Notch #1. Did you actually set the notch in Iron range #'s 1 thru 7 or is that the lowest you could turn the notch numbers to. What I'm getting at is i.e.; when you reset the F-75 to factory setting, the number that comes up in the display when you select the notch mode is #1. That does NOT mean the #1 notch area is active. The purpose of those notch numbers is to help you select an area to notch but the numbers themselves, by themselves, don't indicate any notch being selected. Notched areas are indicated by half or full slashes across the category words, i.e. Iron, Foil, Nickel Tab or Zinc.

When you reset the F-75 to factory settings you'll notice a full slash across the word Iron at the top pf the display. This would normally indicate that both low and high ranges are notched OUT, but in this case the slash appears because the machine factory resets at Disc 10 and that covers low Iron 1 thru 7 and part of high Iron 8 thru 10. Even thought the full slash is through low and high iron, numbers 11 thru 15 will still be detected. Do a factory reset, turn the Disc down from #10 to #1 and notice that the slash disappears from the word Iron at the top of the display. As you can see now, slashes across the categories at the top of the display can come from either Notch or Disc. Enjoy that F-75, I sure enjoy mine.

Hey jim do you know this for sure as most folks even tough JE mode is hi-gain is using it more when possible, I hear or read very few folks using the PF mode except in the UK..theres a mixed review about the PF mode its plowed field some say it spreads the signal and others say it goes deep .It is more stable at higher sense then the JE mode but the Je mode is more sensitive in any conditionsand in bas soil the DE mode is more stabl..I will try out the PF mode more with the next relic hunt..rogersrelicuk.com has a test up he did and proved the PF in his soil was the deepest and also has good info about the Disc setting from 20 up and depth..
I am not sure what the soil difference is..i need to ask him what the feo reading are per his test..

Hi liquid..think it was that same British site where I saw some test results. Also, the manual doesn't say much about the PF mode either. It would be interesting to check it against JE mode by burying a few things at different depths and see how they compare. Jim.

Yea I need to do this test and also check the other modes as well..I have a perfect place for a test garden and I can report the feo minerals and both coils.now that my daughter will get her own machine its something I will do asap..she will benefit from the training...
