We're in the middle of a nice January thaw with temps in the upper 40's. Most of the snow has melted and no frost in the ground what so ever. Had to take advantage and get out while the getting is still good. Hit my favorite park a little after noon and saw BRATNY detecting an area around the large swimming pool. I guess I just missed Park Pirate who was there earlier. Stayed for about an hour and only dug 4 coins. Two Buffalo nickels, a jefferson nickel and a memorial cent. The Buffalos just keep coming. It would be nice to dig a V nickel once in a while but lately they have been in hiding. Still it is great to be detecting in January here in Upstate NY.
