Aussie Digger

New member
Went out yesterday 1/1/2009 here in Aus. and first hole found 10c it was the first time I used ,Christmas present to self, Tracker 1V. Going again today for a couple of hours.

Great to hear your enjoying yourself and your new machine...The Tracker IV is quite capable for its price....Some folks NEVER upgrade from it, and swear by its performance...

Happy Hunting,

Out again for 30 minutes today and starting to distinguish sounds, coin sounds solid and foil etc sounds a little patchy came up with a 10c a 50c and a couple of $1 happy with that. Going to a busy beach area for a week tomorrow on hols so will report activity on my return!

Yep, He has the addiction! Can't wait till you get back and show us your finds. Good luck bud.:detecting:

Well,I said I'd get back to you with some results of the beach holiday.
Ist day 2 $1 coins 2 $2 coins 4 20c Hot wheels car, and about 49 bottle tops
Day 2 About $9.70 and a silver ring
Day 3 about$4.90 plus a 1947 halfpenny and some 1c and 2 c coins a silver bracelet and a sinker spill 20 or so
Day 5 $7.90plus a hot wheels truck and quite a few sinkers.

On arrival home I decided to do some parks with swigs and I have done ok in short times each time out has ranged between half hour to one and a half today $19. 02 plus a silver icon off a necklace and a foreign coin
last week $9.70, $8.65.
Today has been the best day out for coin will have some pics of these finds soon.
Our 5c and 10c pieces sound just like ring pulls but stronger and $2 coin is strong and will be strong down to 14 inches. $1 coins are easy to distinguish but aluminium screw caps are a bit of a pain as they sound like $1 coin.
pinpointing good to within 50mm circle and now distinguishing bottle caps steel, and ring pulls large. I guess I still like to dig most as rig in sand sounded like ring pull only stronger and I would hate to miss a sparkler!!!
Been raining so will try next week.
