Took my twenty-something daughter out detecting (who would have thought?). I gave her my old Silver Sabre, a great beginners machine. Turn on and go.
Went down to the river bank. I would have thought we'd have come home with more lead than a target range, but she hadn't gone 20 feet and yelled, "I got something!".
In her hand was an Indian Head penny! Well, it's been a few years since I've found one of those, but I am really glad she found it instead of me. We finished out with some clad, and of course some lead sinkers.
What a great first time out! Now she looks forward to the trips out.
