First Fall hunt- nice SLQ!

Haven't been out since May, and was really looking forward to it. Went to a park in Plymouth that I had previously hunted hard and came up with well over 150 keepers in the past. First time there with my new SEF coil, and I cannot believe what I missed. About 10 inches down, I popped out this beauty! I absolutely love this series of coins and have been lucky enough to now have found 16 of them, only 3 with no date.

Obviously I have to re-do the entire place. I only posted pics of the SLQ, but I also found 4 Indians- 2- 1864, 1879 and 1880, 2 wheats- 1917 & 44 and a 1916 Merc (of course no "D").

I'm loving this new coil- special thanks to Bryce for the advice!

HH all!

Jeff..that's a beautiful SLQ.

SLQ's are my FAVORITE silver coin and I do believe yours and my date/no date ratio are 100% different.

I've been lucky enough to find a few myself...but only 3 WITH a date:bouncy:

Glad the 10 x 12 is working it's magic for you too my friend.:beers:

Hi,

SLQ stands for Standing Liberty quarter, minted from 1916 - 1930. A really beautiful coin, because of the way they were struck, they didn't hold their dates well until they were redesigned in 1925. I'm going to put up some pics of the group I have found before the weekend ends.

Hey Ed,

Sorry to hear that news my friend! How long you DL'd for?

Reason I ask, I heard from Todd remarking about my SLQ and we're gonna try to find an area between he and I to hook up and hunt- we haven't hunted pretty much since you and Charles came down and joined Todd and me at Seated in Fall River. If you're not gonna be on the DL too long, maybe we can hook up somewhere. I know there's quite a distance between you, Charles and Todd and me, but who knows? Hopefully we could make something work!

Get well my friend.

Jeff

That is a nice Type-1. Congrats!
