Well I have all notes from the great advice that I got from Dirt Jockey, Nugget and others form this board.
I'll give it a whirl.
If you would. Pleas share your first experience detecting with me.

my first time I got hooked in 2 minutes. Only found some change and scrap metal, but the fun is not knowing if the next second u could pull a very rare coin, or jewelry. Plus ur outdoors. What else could you want from life???:detecting:

My first outing I got about a dozen bullets and an old sardine tin! I dug it a close to 2' how it got there under a rock I'll never know,:detecting: but it had my heart pounding. Live your dreams! HH regards Nugget.

Well, just got back from my first real experience detecting 2/2/08. My son and I went to the beach and LOOKIE HERE !!!!!!!
Sorry about the thumb...I was excited and hooked!!!!:clapping:
I actually went out a few times just to see how different things registered by direction from the helpful people on this board.
I am using a BH 202 and WOW will it find a lot of stuff. Cant wait to really learn how to use it.
Probably costume but a thrill for my first time out.

Great Find! I am so happy for you, jewelry is always a thrill. Sounds like you are beginning to understand what the 202 is telling you. It can only get better from here on out. I've said it before and I'll say it again. I have never been skunked with my 202, I have always found money or something of value. It just hates to pass up coins. Now practice on your pinpointing and there'll be no stopping you. Enjoy your find, thanks for the update and the picture.

Very nice find Congrats, keep them coming! Live your dreams! HH regards Nugget.:detecting:

Very nice finds stinky:

This is only the beginning man....Soon your gonna be showing us the gold...dig them pull tab signals...that is where the gold shows up...you will dig a ton of pull tabs, but 100 of those are worth a nice 18k diamond ring....
My first experience was also with the Bounty Hunter Pioneer 202...I had a rough go of it, as I was trying to go strictly by the book (which is flawed by the way)...I had the sens up too high, and was getting all kinds of false signals that I had no idea what they were at the time. for 2 hours I did fight with my machine, but in the end, I came out with $3.37 in clad from a local tot lot. I was hooked for life...

HH,

great find! my first time out with my BH202 i only found the usual bottle caps, pull tabs, a battery, and other junk. but i did run into a member of this site Guzz1, we talked for a bit and he shared some advice with me. that made the trip worth while! since then my only regret is not getting out more than i do.

Thanks for all the great stories and encouragement. What a great forum
