First Ever Civil War Finds

Hello everyone! Today I finally found my first civil war artifacts with my Tejon. Found some bullets and a skeleton key. I also found a wooden pocket knife with a key. Not sure if this is from the civil war era. Can anyone date this knife?

Congratulations! Awesome finds.....Don't know about the knife but the key looks like a modern one. Like the key I had for my bicycle lock when I was a kid. I guess it is a relic !

Your lead items are civil war. However, the knife with the attached key is held back by the key, which is not anywhere near civil war origin. The second key, although it is a skeleton key is just a skeleton key, and could date to a few decades ago, to as far back as the civil war, but you can't really say it is from the civil war because it is impossible to date, I remember them from when I was a child.

However, you are doing good and your Tejon will shortly find you plenty of civil war items.

More finds... a metal toy gun, 5 bullet casings, pocket knife, bracelet, serpent ring, pendant with 3 stones, a ladies watch, a lighter 2 pennies (1944 and 1957) and 2 buttons. I found the eagle button in my kids school yard. I think its WWII. I found the flat button in the yard of Charles Washington's house brother of George Washington (Happy Retreat). From my research, its from the 1800s Massachusetts Militia . On the outside back it says "Standard-Colour" and on the inside back "Treely Gilt" (i think).

Way to Go:thumbup: That Tejon is like a vacuum cleaner it doesnt leave anything in the ground!!!
