It gives you a no motion All Metal mode. It's really a specialized mode of operation. You may never have a need for it, but it's there. Better off using the standard all metal mode.
 
:clapping:..I have heard that the all metal static mode goes deep and is good for finding casche or working in deep cellars..
 
Its a VERY deep mode, but it does drift, so you will have to hit the retune occasionally. But in worked out areas it will probably have you SHOUTING [from the DEEEP GOODIES OTHERS COULD NOT REACH]!:detecting:
