[/img]Those who know me are familiar that I enjoy hunting in the water. I've seen so many great finds posted up here there just isn't time to comment on them. I've finally had the first chance to use my new - used excal 2. Been out three times this week (tues, thurs & saturday) to a private lake I have permission to hunt. I spent about three hours each time out. After the first time in regular waders I returned with my insulated waders & shoulder length gloves. The water is frigid!

Best kind of finds a mixed bag great stuff  that WL is in great shape , this winter i should get my first Excal . HH Jim

What a great score Bruce. Sure glad to see you're feeling well enough to get out. Congratulations on some great finds.

I agree some very nice treasure!! If FSA knows you, you must be in the NE area...., you guys do very well..special on the old stuff..

FSA & myself are in CT. I'm 18 miles west of Hartford and he's in the southeastern part of the state more than an hour away from me. We see eachother at the club meetings. There is old stuff and lots of competition for it. I do best on private property and the finds here come from a place that has no public access or onstreet parking. I worked it hard 15 years ago when I had a friend who used to live there. Got back in due to contacts my wife has.

Thanks guys. I lost out on the whole summer and then some so I'm kicking it hard now that this opportunity opened up. The best stuff seems to be on the edge of where the lake drops off into deeper water. I'm using a tight wader belt high up on my chest. Here's the deal I can run the sens at 9 with no EMI or falsing and I may try pushing it to 10 the next time. I was considering trying my CZ-20 because it can hit gold chain very close to the coil but I know it's locked in the salt mode vs the BBS tech in my Excal. The chain and bracelet I hit I'm sure was due to the medals hanging off them. This being the forum home of BBS I can guess the majority here would just say font mess with success. Anyone ever get to run wide open at sens = 10? Dang, I should just put this out as a new topic and see what people weigh in with.
