first eagle button

I got out this morning for two hours at an old park. The first spot I hit was where I found a seated quarter last fall. The ground is fairly moist, but the grass is still high. I got a deep signal which sounded good, but was not quite in the silver coin range. Dug down about 8 inches and found this eagle "I" button. No other keepers except for a 1920 wheat. I think, from reading about buttons on the forums, this is a late 1800s button (not CW). The backmark reads "D. Evans & Co. Attleboro Mass." Still some gilt left on the front. Button is about 22 mm diameter. If anyone has any info on it, I would appreciate it. Thanks, Doug

edit: I checked civilwarbuttons.com and it is listed as an overcoat button from the civil war era.

Nice rescue!
