G,day All,I finally got my long handled sand scoop made so i hit the beach this morning.I had a little trouble at first trying to pinpoint & guide my scoop in to the hard sand embedded with small stones & shells, but the more i dug the better i got at scooping up my target.I was in the water for 6.5hrs I searched a area about 100m long,i started in the shallows & worked parallel up to my waist deep, but geez it was a bit cold on the old family jewels.I managed to dig a 9ct gold ring & a Silver ring& also a surfy pendant, 28 coins & a Good Old American Dime,so which one of you has lost a dime in Aussie waters?. But there were deeper targets i just couldnt reach.Stacks of trash too!
Total finds 9ct Gold heart ring,Silver mood ring,1 dime,28 coins-$18.50.

Hey Freddy, looks like the Mark II is working well for you. I am convinced that you chose wisely. Just think how proficient you will be with it in a year. I hunted yesterday and found 1 penny so, don't get too cocky. Great loot mate!

Nice finds. I sure wish the USA would catch up with the rest of the world and come out with the higher value coins. The highest we have is the $1 and there are not many of them around. I am lucky if 28 coins total $3.00

Yeah where pretty lucky in a way,& those those 1 & 2 dollar coins are small & very easy to lose.Im just hopeing that in the next few years they will replace the $5 dollar note with a coin. Its normal in Aus to find at least 5-20 coins in a park & most of them will be goldies!!!!.Long Weekend this weekend (Easter time) Friday,Sat,Sun,& Monday off going to hit the beach hard for a few days digging.
