First decent find with the IDX

Dirt Poor

New member
Took that machine out yesterday to a place that I've hunted to death over the years. Here's a breast plate that I found, but it's kinda mangled-up. It's been years since I dug one, so this one made my day. The IDX works great, and ID's iron great. That machine is so light-weight that old "arthritic me" can swing it for hours. No pain this morning, either.

Nice Find Dirt Poor

I wish I lived where something like that could be found. The IDX is a much more 'serious' detector than some people give it credit for.

Having rheumatoid arthritis, my first pleasant surprise was the weight. I've owned and used a 6000 di series 3, an older Sears/Whites Coinmaster(top of the line at the time), a Spectrum, and more recently a MXT(which I later sold). The Sears model I bought new, and found alot with it. Then I got the 6000, which I loved, and also got an Amphibian Surfmaster II, which I had great luck with. Then came the Spectrum, which "kicked arse". Then the MXT. My health issues became pronounced towards the latter years of using the Spectrum. By the time I got the MXT, I was simply unable to swing it very long, and my shoulder would hurt for 2 days. After using the IDX for 3 hours yesterday, I could have kept going longer. I'm "old school", and enjoy the simplicity of the IDX, also. The depth is tolerable for mr, too. I really like the machine.
