All I can say is what a big difference. They say its not the machine but the man behind it but when it comes to beach hunting and comparing a sov gt to an ace 250 I beg to differ.
I will admit I was a little concerned when air testing and going over my test garden situated in my back yard and under power lines and two tranformers I was haveing some trouble with the machine. All of these worries vanished however as soon as I turned it on at the beach. It is rock solid from wet to water to dry. I don't believe I encountered a single false and was running sens in the ten o'clock position. My ace in the wet was like being locked in a room with a pinball machine that did not know the meaning of "game over".
I also encountered some vary faint coin sounding hits early in the hunt that I dug down to around 8 inches and gave up on. On the way back to the car toward the end of the hunt I got another one of these and decided no matter how far I had to dig I was going to find this target. At around ten inches out came a penny that obviously had been calling this beach home for quite some time. Outstanding, and I guess I am going to have to get use to digging some deeper holes.
The best came quick at about ten minutes after hitting the wet. Quite possibly my best find ever. Silver setting with some kind of large pink gem in the middle and two smaller stones on each side that I am hoping are diamonds. Along with a 925 stamp on the inside is what appears to be IO NV. I don't know what this indicates. Maybe some here can help me out on this one. I cant believe my luck and needless to say any uneasiness I had about spending the money I did on this detector has gone away.
Picture quality is not the greatest camera sucks.
