ok my first day out with se i got 2.14 in clad and a small silver earring . the beach is sanded in so i didnt expect much what has me a bit concerned is i didnt find a nickel and pull tabs didnt give off a clear signal like the dimes and quarters and if u dont get nickels u sure as wont get gold
what i liked about se was the crisp sound on quarters and dimes and the silver earring . most if detecting was down in wet sand . i also lliked the balance of the machine .
what i disliked and this may be the operater not se was the amount of falsing in the wet sand esp the sound it gave me a deep low bass sound which may hide nickels and gold . i also got high falsong when a wave hit the coil. dont know of this is what to expect from se i know my excal and sov run smooth on wet sand . anybody else getting falsing in the wet sand. btw it ran smooth as silk in dry sand and could get sens up to 26 with np
settings were
sens-20 which i took down to 15 in the wet sand but couldnt get rid of false signals so went back to 20. i believe in manual not semi auto i looked and there was no circle around sens as mike said would be manual.one thing se book is lacking doesnt really expain how to get in manual and semi modes i hope i was in manual mode
disc function i tried all metal and there were to many iron targets for me so i used iron mask at 16. im hoping this disc should be good for gold just didnt like the sound pulltabs gave low and long instead of a crisp beep like the dimes and quarters give.
gain-left it at 8
audio sounds-conduct
response- i used pitch sound which didnt help me find a target i missed by change of threshold as i kept getting that low bass falsing
rec fsat off
deep on
only other thing i changed was tone variablity which i put to 10 maybe thats making machine work to hard not sure about that setting yet
so of i could reduce falsing somehow i would be happy camper i did reduce sens to 15 and still had falsing again im ablet to run excal and sov preety smooth in wet sand thanks in advance for any input
