First Day out With XT-70

Charles T

New member
Got my XT-70 today as a B-day gift from my wife and son, just turned 40. Only dug up small change in clad but it was fun. I felt, and probably looked like a dog diggin for his lost bone. I've read many opinions on this forum of people talking about difficulty in learning this model, in my opinion it is a simple detector, yet powerful. I downloaded the manual and read it many times before my detector ever arrived. The only obstacle I seem to face is lack of experience. Today it seemed as if everytihg was registering as a 36 on th TID, and often it was a pull tab. Such is metal detecting. Great detector, I look forward to pulling silver out of the groung. Be blessed!

Congratulations on the new X70 Charles. I got my X30 last Wednesday and like it alot. Many of told me the X70 is a pretty easy machine I am thinking about upgrading to one. Let us know when you hit all the silver and gold.

Happy birthday Charles.
It sounds like you and tink are off to a great start. This sure is a fun hobby. I never really took off in this hobby till I bought my X-Terra 30 back in November last year.Got about 200hrs on it now. Sure would like to get out more frequently, but that's life. They are very easy to use, hold and excellent performers.
It is always nice to pull up something unexpected, especially old coins and rings. We all have slightly different interests in what we like to hunt for, but we all really enjoy our hunts. Sometimes, if only to out in the cool of the afternoon sun, and watch yet another beautiful sunset, or simply come into contact with the soil (there is something strangely soothing in doing that). What ever your interest is, enjoy:wiggle:
