First day out with the new CTX 3030 from Minelab

Well I just picked up my new CTX 3030 today and I was able to get 2 solid hours in of detecting. I went to one of my played out sites that has yielded some nice coins in the past but the Etrac really put a dent in finding anything else. I started finding several wheaties and some clad. The machine is really fast and can pick out good targets in heavy iron...I know this first hand. Also the CTX is very accurate at target ID. Nickels read a true 11-12, 11-13 most everytime and I found 7 of them. (very rare for me with the Etrac) I found an 1888 IH 7" down which was a huge surprise, but my biggest surprise was finding a 1908 Barber quarter and 1926 Standing Liberty quarter. Both were 5-6" and the Barber was reading 11-46, 11-49, 28-45, 30-46 most of the time and the STQ read 11-45, 11-46, 22-46. There was no way I would have detected these with any other machine. These were not small dimes which can be easily missed. I am VERY impressed with this machine.

Nice recoveries! Always nice to find silver. But a full date on the Standing quarter is a bonus!! Finding two silver quarters on your maiden voyage should be a very good sign of things to come. Thanks for the video and post. HH Randy

Dang! A Barber quarter and a SLQ within what 5 minutes?
CONGRATS!

That is pretty amazing! Congrats on the nice find. CLEARLY the CTX is doing something different. Look forward to seeing some videos from someone with an E-Trac comparing signals - it isn't going to hit on all of them ;-)

Congrats Jim! I look forward to hunting with mine soon.

Nice finds!

This is the kind of results I have been waiting to see. I don't really care that you took a new detector to a "random site" and found some keepers, heck that might have been done with a $50 detector. I want to see results from hard hit worked over sites. That is what I've got. Not many new sites left for me after 30+ years.

That rocks Jim - my brother and I are having similar experiences with our CTX's - finding coins in areas we've pounded with our E-Tracs - pretty exciting stuff!
