First day out with the Excall. No Gold...

Hi all. here we go, today was my very first time with my Excall machine, I head out to the river and start hunting on the sand (gravel) area, got the stainless ring with fake stones and the skeleton necklace, 4 quarters, 6 dimes.4 nickles and 45 pennies. than I got into the water and I was able to get the other 2 rings one I was able to see it and just grave it the other was just underneath the surface of the sand. then I got 1 earring, partial necklace, 2 quarters, 4 dimes and 10 pennies. I got 65 pultabs, 16 buttercups, 37 peaces of melted aluminum, and LOTS, LOTS OF FUN.
ONE THING I NOTICE ITS A LOT DIFFERENT THAN THE SOV. GT THE TONES ARE LITTLE OFF AND THE THRESHOLD IS JUST NOT STABLE AT ALL ON LAND BUT UNDER WATERS IT SETTLES DOWN AND MORE ACCURATE ON TARGETING AND TONE.
Is this the way they are?
ONE MORE QUESTION, THE MORE TO THE LEFT(CLOSEST TO AUTO) THE MORE SENSITIVITY RIGHT?

The threshold comes back with the sound of the last discriminated target if I remember right.

Correct the more counter clockwise the more sensitivity. As far as the tones..... it likely you are used to a good pair of headphones. The tones on the Xcal are completely different when modified with a great pair of phones.

greenmeanie, yea that is something I notice but it was a bit confusing on that, at times I was thinking that it was off or something then I ecrease the threhhold and tne BBBBZZZZZ came back and then out again.
dewcon4414. I play with the sensitivity and didn't make a lots of diference vs the GT. but like I said I GOT LOTS OF FUN and I'm ready for next weekend.

When i first started using the Xcal i didnt think there was much difference in sensitivity settings either. After at least a 1000 hours now on the machine ....... i now can dial it in much better. It will come.
