First day in the rain with the Xterra 50

Just a get acquainted hunt with the 5x10 HF DD.

It was a misty rainy day. Did fine without a cover. There was one point where I had to wait out a heavy downpour for about 30 minutes but that was ok.

My sand is a bit tough for that frequency but it may be because the top 3" was wet. It may work better when its dry. If I recall correctly the Xterra 70 running this coil did fairly well in the dry sand.

Ground balance seems awfully close to the edge for me. Had it at a 3 in the sand and it would probably been better at a 2-1/2 Wonder what all those other gb numbers are for?????

Finds are from some sand volleyball, playground and a big woodchip lot. Not too bad in the woodchips.

5.60 in change, a balloon fiesta pin from a local casino, a little league baseball pin, neckerchief slide, lots of trash. Couple of caps.

HH

Mike
