First CTX Hunt Gets Some Clad

Hi All

Well the CTX arrived a day ahead of schedule and got my first hunt in. Assembly was no problem.

Went to a local park that I'm sure has been hit hard and dates at least to the 40's. I only had about two hours to hunt so I selected the stock silver program and modified with Ferrous-coin and Combined tones. I stuck with Auto +3 and the machine was running around 16. I later tried manual and think I could run at 20 to 24. However, the machine ran smooth in Auto but I was concerned about depth and found manual did make a difference in air testing of a penny on the ground so I may try Manual on the next hunt.

I was really trying to cherry pick hoping to hit some silver on the first hunt.

Well no silver but I did manage 18 coins, a dog tag, hollow barrel thing and flattened coin. Dug a pile of square tabs that were coming in below nickles on the screen and I may disc them out next time. Also got a few bottle caps and they were also near the iron disc line and I could prob disc them out as well. I mean after a while I was looking at the numbers and calling them before I dug.

So far I really like the machine. The balance if fantastic and I really had no fatigue after two hours. I ran really smooth and I found a few coins. A few issues were the wireless controller on/off button seems to require more pressure than I would expect not sure what's going on here but the pairing button also required a lot of pressure. Any one have similar experience? The display is also not as bright as I would like but I had the back light in the default always on mode. I tried to turn off but couldn't in the field but found out latter that if it is still tied to the user button then you can't turn the back light off so maybe in the daylight is should be off. I"ll check this out tomorrow.

I believe this is by design to prevent accidental pushes. Mine is the same way.

Go get um Atlas!

Thanks for looking guys.

I was having a hard time getting to sleep last night just wanting to get back out with the machine.

I'll be giving it another drive today when it warms up a little. Got a little cold snap going here it's in the 40's and may get up to 50.

One other thing I forgot to mention. The wireless is grrreat. No more cord in the way when you set the machine down to dig.
