First couple of hunts in Colorado!

Finally got a chance to hunt after getting to CO about 8 days ago. The weather is much drier and cooler than what I'm used to, and also the change in elevation was something I underestimated...

Today's hunt yielded two Wheats that are in remarkable shape compared to how they usually come out of the ground back in TN.

Found a clad glory hole holding 10 coins totalling $1.80 - woohoo! It was a fairly recent drop and it looked like someone deliberately stacked the coins...you stack em and I'll find em LOL

Hope to score a permission this weekend in this older part of CO Springs - there are many Victorian houses here and plenty of places I know nothing about yet - it can only get better from here!

Looks like you have to learn a whole new area again - sounds like a challenge - but also a lot of fun !

Good Luck !

Gratz con! I live on the western slope of colorado and hunt old homesteads a lot. Good luck on your hunts! I love the Deus but love my Tesoros just as much and they all work well out here.

Sounds like you are getting settled in nicely. Good luck out there bud and enjoy the climate. HH jim tn

I live up the pass in Woodland Park and detect Colorado Springs once or twice a week. Memorial Park and America The Beautiful Park are big, wide open parks to hunt and have been good for some nice "finds". Good luck. If you're moving to Colorado Springs I'll give you an invitation to our metal detecting club.

Sounds great! I hunted Memorial today for about 3 hours and found nothing before 1960 - moved on to North Park and didn't do much better. The ground was easy to work with - just didn't get the coil over any old coins today...may go back to the vacant lots tomorrow
