Received my Impact yesterday afternoon and set it up last night. I was able to get out this afternoon for about two hours. I decided to go to a post civil war camp that was established to protect settlers from Indian attact in AZ. We have hammered this place over the years with many different detectors. As of late the Fors CoRe and the Relic. This site doesn't give up much anymore. So, I thought it would be a good test for the Impact to see how it would fair on a hammered site that is absolutely littered with iron. I started with the large stock coil and moved through various settings checking targets. DI3 performed the best for sorting through the heavy iron and giving the best info as to what was in the ground. In the less iron infested areas DI99 worked well. I hunted for a time in 20 kHz but the machine was susceptible to interference from airplanes flying over. It would freak out for a minute then return to stable. I tried the 1-5 freq switch to try and calm it down to no avail. I switched to 14 kHz and no more airplane problems. I picked up a couple of pieces of lead but nothing too earth shattering. I came to an area that had some stacked rocks and bricks that has produced some great relics in the past and decided to switch to the small coil. This spot is covered in iron and flat pieces of rusted tin...it's a nightmare. It has not produced anything for us for a while now and has had multiple machines and operators over it. To my surprise the Impact in DI3, 14 kHz, zero disc was magic! This combo can separate like no other. I thought that the Relic was the ultimate for pulling good stuff from the iron. The Impact with the small coil surpasses the Relic for iron separation. It hits very hard on the non ferrous pulling you up right now. Here is the result of my short hunt...

The dropped bullets were the biggest surprise. They came from a heavily hunted spot and stood out like a sore thumb signal wise amongst the iron. They mic out to .46 caliber and weigh 228 grains. I don't know what they are yet (colt?). They were all found within a few feet of each other...unbelievable! I'm not sure what the brass do-dad is in the last photo. The trap chain was a eye spy while walking in. I knew I was digging a Ox shoe before I dug it. The Nokta's are good at identifying large iron relics that may be keepers like Ox shoes and ax heads.
So far so good with the Impact. I have other heavily hunted sites I want to go back to now with the small coil. The Impact is set up very well and is a pleasure to swing. Having the CoRe and the Relic it was a easy transition for me. I like the language that the Nokta's speak.

P.S.- I used my Black Widow head phones with no issues. No hum.
