First Coin Spill

Hit my first .25 coin spill tonight. I went out for a quick half-hour hunt before dark and after walking about 30 yards the MXT started chattering and I dug a quarter and then got back up, swung again, got another ring and on it went until I had pulled 5 quarters in about a 16" area. I know this isn't a big haul for most but for me it was neat. One of the quarters was a 65 so I was close to my first silver but it hasn't rang yet.

Nice spill!
Your fist silver means alot more when it evades you for so long. My First silver was a 1900 Barber Dime. I was super excited! I have since found better silver but your first is something you will always remember.

It's getting to be such that I will probably need a new pair of pants after I find my first silver.

CLAD is still great though and I will never get tired of digging it.

I eventually decided to hunt where nobody wants to hunt. Most times I go out and find a spot then I have to swing my feet knocking down weeds before I can swing the coil. I get poison ivy in the middle of winter doing this. :( But the rewards can be worth it. And the MXT is great for woods hunting. It requires much less speed than the older whites so you can get right up against obstacles and give the coil a good wiggle and it sounds off just fine. The worst part about woods hunting is digging through tree roots, bring a long handled full size shovel. Once in awhile I get out in a field and it almost spoils me!

Gotta love those coin spills. Hey, don't be disappointed in not finding the silver. Right now every cent counts. Like I use to say, we could buy silver with all the coins we found. It adds up. You'll come across that silver one of these days. Your coil had got to be over it. Be patient and keep learning your machine. Thanks for sharing your story and HH, Nancy

You'll be surprised how often a coin spill shows up if you coin shoot often. Any time the display bounces between different coin indications with a trash one or two thrown in - always dig. Very often there'll be several or more coins within a few inches.
