First class ring with my Vaquero

First class ring.

Nice find Mark!! Looks like you're getting the hang of the Vaquero.. That should boost your confidence in the machine.

Working in a football field.

Trying something new!

GB as usual, but instead of running in disc mode I....

Set disc mode to just above iron, then held in the pinpoint button and quickly swept until I received a good signal, then released the button to see if it was still there. Dug every signal that didn't disc out at these settings.
Of course this was not my idea. I got it from one of Monte's post about running in all metal. The ring was about 5" deep. Sounded loud and clear in every direction

This tip from Monte is most likely the most important tip I've read so far.

Check it out...

AM Facts.

When you run in all metal with most machines you eliminate masking usually get more depth and coil coverage...It the area is very trashy very tedious way to hunt as basically your picking up everything and not recommended in all situations, however in your case seemed to work well..In some of the parks I hunt would get a hit on every swing and some areas would sort of sound like a machingun...
Just one of the tricks of the trade Monte has learned over the years and of course shares with the forum...

You're exactly right. The ball field was very clean. Didn't dig but a couple pull tabs. Couldn't hunt in am at our local park for the many pull tabs and misc junk metal.
