First Cibola hunt!

Oh man! NOW I see what all the fuss is about the Tesoro heaters. I gotta admit, I was a little skeptical that these machines could be THAT much fun to use, but the hype is very correct.
Took my new Cibola out for its maiden voyage today, and it totally impressed me. These Tesoros hit coins like a wrecking ball man!
Anyway, heres my first haul with the Cibola. Not a ton, but just so much fun! What's weird is... I dont miss having a TID screen at all.

TESORO"S ROCK!

Wait...There's More!
Learning about all the little things...techniques, methods, all kinds of big and small parts and quirks in the language of sound.
Trust me, it gets even better.

Now you are talking. Them Tesoros rock. Wait till you try a COMPADRE. The fun is just getting started. You are going to love tesoro... KEN,, IND.

Was only at this park for about an hour and a half. Most of the ground is still frozen solid. Had to look for areas that were thawed enough to dig. LOL
Cannot wait till all of our ground here in Michigan is soft.
The thing that tricked me most was those darned twist off bottle caps. But I think Ive found that the sound is softer on the edges, whereas a coin is very sharp.

Loving this CIBOLA!

Tesoro makes detectors that work well and are alot of fun to use. They might be single tone but as you are finding out the sounds sort of talk to you. Never met a Tesoro I didn't like.

That is the best thing about tesoro, they are simply as you can handle or as complex through the understanding that you just mentioned. I always hear people refer to them as simple beep and dig detectors, I think that is far from being true. These can tell you a lot of information even in all metal mode, best thing about them I can hunt for hours and use a lot less tiger balm.

say I am with you , I do not need the TID, and if you want the Gold rings & coins we have to dig the tabs & aluminum, You may not know it but you are hooked now , I tried the tesoroes and then left for other brands, but funny thing I come back to tesoro, granite i still miss the musky with its 5khz, but i have come back to tesoro and like them , Wished i could have kept the outlaw - as i would choose it any day over the VAQ if i was going to the ball field or soccer complex,

Thanks for the replies everyone. Most appreciated.
I really thought I would be lost out there today, but just the opposite. The Cibola got it right almost every time with its discrimination.
The only time we dug junk was my fault..... And I like that.
I think what I enjoyed most was not depending on computer algorithms to tell me what the target is....

The discrimination on the Tesoros is unbelievably good. I really trust it more than my TID machine. And the quality of the machine is top notch. As soon as you grab hold of it, it just screams "Made in America". Not many anything does that for me anymore...

Soon you'll be dumping that Tek for another Tesoro.
Heck I dumped two Delta, Omega after using a Tesoro over the same area I thought that I cleaned out with them.
Surprise tons of Canadian coins the Teks missed or would not ID correctly.

Keep on posting your finds

Maybe after the next spell of freezing rain the rock hard ground will thaw. This is what I saw looking out across the street today.

Sven, I'm afraid that you are probably right! I like the Tek, but man, the confidence level just cranks up when using the Tesoro.
-------OK, sorry, I'm starting to sound like a paid spokesperson ------

Cmon spring! (without the floods) :)

Nothing wrong with singing the praises of a company that your pleased with. I do it all the time, but I like value and I think bang for buck Tesoro is really tough to beat.

Question is my signature showing up on our side of the screen.

what a beautiful sight sven

I've strayed at times too, but I always come back to a Tesoro. Of all the non-Tesoro models I tried, the F5 was pretty decent, but it just wasn't as much fun. For Canadian coins, there is nothing available as effective as a Tesoro, IMHO.

I wouldnt try to avoid screwcaps too much. I dug a class ring that I incorrectly identified as a screwcap.
