Found this little feller at 4"
Looks to be of a .38 cal
Not sure but I think it is a self made wad-cutter.

Any Ideas of the when it was made?
 
I bet it even weighs 158 grains too. It is a very common style used in handloading and by companies that sell reloaded ammunition. The top band is where it was crimped too, and the bttom band held some form of lube like beeswax or a synthetic. I have been using that style since I started handloading in 1983. It was aroud long before that!

Thanks, I figured it was a reload type.
I looked through my rifle supply books,
and found a similar item. Thought it was not the same.
 
Just about every manufacturer has a version of this style, would take a while to find the exact mfr, and then probably couldn't due to them being so similar. When you get a big ole bullet covered in white patina, THAT is the keeper!!!

Dums are super hollow points that expand to about the size of a half dollar and blow a hole in you that you could toss a football through. HA.
