True story, didn't know they were so big. Folks must of had some big pockets back then. The Walker was only about 5", these were both in a public park.
 
That buff is a souvenir fantasy coin, sold by Cracker Barrel restaurants and maybe a few other places.
To be used as a coaster, paperweight...whatever.
Key dates, here is an Indian they also sell.
Never heard of anyone ever digging one up before so...cool!

I looked it up and you are right about it being used as a coaster. It is 3 inches in diameter, being so deep in that park I'm guessing it has to be a "plant" probably by another detecterist.

Could be a plant, but who goes to all that effort to do that and then not be there to see a reaction?
More logical is this was used as a weight to keep picnic table covers in place and it was left behind.
In soft soil I can see it sinking deep given enough time...they are heavy.
