First Big Silver with CTX!!

Was hunting a junky field in an old part of town. I had dug so many screw top beer lids that I was only digging 12.42s and higher. LOL! Got to the back of the field where there was much less trash and identified a 12.46/47 at 5in. Sorry did not have camera to film coin and hole. It is a very dirty 1943 D walking liberty half. The coin was so dirty that I thought it was a token until I saw the reeded edge.

I brought it home and washed with soap and water but this only removed some of the dirt. The coin shows decent detail under the dirt. I would appreciate any tips for cleaning that would not damage the coin...

Great find!

Best case scenario of a 1943 Walker from the dirt being AU, it's worth about $45.00 or less.
So, I would use baking soda and a couple drops of water to LIGHTLY rub off the tarnish.
If it was a more valuable coin, I would, and others would recommend leaving it alone.

Nice find on the big Silver.:twodetecting::minelab::cheers:
