I was hunting an old hunting camp last week. There was an old stone foundation and lots of trees and brush.
I circled the foundation with my Whites Sl II and found some junk but no coins. I moved off into the woods
and tried to imagine what went on here and how things might have been arranged.
I noticed a nice patch of green grass and thought even 60 or 70 years ago it might have been a nice spot
to sit down. I was amazed when the detector rang positive. I kicked the leaves away and at only two or
three inches down I pulled out a nickel. I ran the coil back over the area and it screamed again. This dime
I saw the sparkle of silver. Again and again I repeated and within a two foot area I dug 17 coins.
It made my day and my year. I didn't take time to look or count at the scene but I sure did
enjoy the sight when I got home.
