First Beach hunt, looking for tips and suggestions.

We are going to do our first beach hunt tomorrow on the Gulf of Mexico. I have an Ace 250 and I know not to get in the water with it. I was just wondering if some of you experienced beach hunters could give any helpful advice or tips on working on the beach.

Dry sand you should have no problem. If you are in wet sand or balck sand you may have to tirn down your sensitivity to make it quiet.

Yep, work the dry stuff with lowered Sens., maybe 2 bars but play with it to see how much it can handle in the slightly wet without falsing. Make a zigzag course at or near the high tide line. After a few zig-zags, you will notice your dig holes starting to line up behind you. Get on that line and detect away!!

I usually work into the wet sand with 3 bars sens & "All Metal" mode
Dry sand will be no problem
Like BCD says get on that line & most important ENJOY
