Second day out was the other gold ring no idea about it it was deep and looks old??
all were found on the atlantic coast.
I didn't list the 100 or so pull tabs and other junk I retreived:)
Where can you take ring to get them apraised?
Thanks
Chris

From the looks of it, (if real) that engagement ring could be a 1/2 to 1ct. ($500-1,000)

There's nothin' like havin' a hobby with a renewable resource! It makes us all grin when somebody scores like this.
Congrats!!! Just quality stuff.

Its the old PI pro,They didn't have the new one Listed when I bought this one last week. But to be honest I read about the new one yesterday and I would have still bought this one For the easy starts. I'm new to the beach here.I always searched dry land before in the South Carolina Mountains.

Well, any jewelry shop will be happy to appraise it for a fee. Your best bet is to befriend a local dealer, perhaps somebody that you have done business with in the past & ask for a favor. If you intend on selling the engagement ring, you may want to get it apparaised & add the appraisal to the cost. List it on Ebay, Craig's list or even your local jeweler may sell it for you on consignment.

If you don't NEED the money, you may want save the good one's & get a nice ring made for the Miss's. Just a few ideas

SHiny! COngrats! It feels good to find the treasure... now I know.

Keep up the awesome work! You will have paid off your dector in no time at all! :wiggle:

Any idea's?

Nice job I love rings

First, great finds I am now a fine shade of green. Second , where the hell is Al Gore? He got awards for his stupid movie and this guy is recycling in a real way, hihi.
As far as getting your finds appraised I agree with the comment above you pay for the real appraisals.
The question I ask is why do you want it appraised? If you want to sell it then just knowing what you have ie weight, kt and size and quality of the stone(s) then compare on ebay and other sites for comparable rings. My wife and I sold a lot of our finds during the 1980's well before ebay to gold dealers and individuals. I found that retail prices were 3 to 5 times a wholesale value and pawn shops paid about one third or less of the wholesale value.
My advise on dealing with gold dealers, if you have them in your local area, is to quietly inform them you detect in the water and will be bringing them a regular supply of gold. You should find they will give you a percent on your gold.
When selling to individuals I expect a lot more that junk gold prices. I did polish all our finds prior to showing them to possible customers. One of the great things about this hobby is it leads to many other things and opportunities to meet people. HH to all, Mike.
