Well took it to the saltwater beach, real, make that very,very impressed.This unit is rock solid in the wetsand. Which is a A+. The only gripe is it seems the threshold drops out after awhile and you have to a) turn it up or b) hit the reset and see if it comes back. I was there working the wetsand for about 15 mins. Ran into two guys hunting (or getting beat to death in the kneesurf using excal2's), his exact words were "next time I come down here I'm bringing my BHID"...... his has the 12inch of course,lol. When 2 seasoned surf pirates using excal 2s say good things about a white's machine I listen.
I got a few nulls in the threshold in exact "X" able locations???? no ID?? just a null, in the past using a Fisher 1265X wound out a null in the "feedback" was usually a insanly deep target, so I dug, and dug, and dug then a wave filled in the hole so I don't know what it was wish i did though.
ID worked very well until I jacked up the sens then it was off.... coins(could have been zincs, was dark) were sounding off as med tones/yellow even cans were doing it. So what? I dig em all anyway,lol. If the ID said it was crap it was bottle caps or flat iron.
I got several hits where the light would come on but no audio???? they would even somewhat X (I also had the sens jacked up to 11!)
Also foil specks would hit and ID but only 1 way and flick 2 when I make that warp speed up my sweep. Seems also like I can sweep pretty fast and even improve the hits without having to crawl sweep which is perfect for me as i like to cover lots-o-ground on the beach.
Hunted wetsand and drysand. Found a BIG pile of stuff/trash I can safely say more than usual and I WAS NOT digging more just doing the same things I always do when at the beach. Hit several crusty qrts @ 8 or so and lots of change and even a 10k ring!!!!! a mens ring w/ the virgin on both sides and what looks like diamonds (but I think it's 9 zircs) on the top. also a large hoop heart shaped unmarked but heavy with stones (zircs i think along the edge?) also a sunglass leg and a lot of foil and tabs. I'll sell this ring and put it in the "12 inch coil upgrade fund"
It's a good thing it's waterproof cause I was hunting very high in the sand set the detector down and up comes a wave 12 feet and wets the whole case. My heart almost stopped then I realized it's waterproof dummy! Had I been using my Sov. XS it would have been toast.( have it tail mounted) Needless to say I'll be heading out this eve and prob. tomm as well and play. Sorry no pics but the beach one.(was at about 7:45-8pm) Forgot to bring my stuff into work today. Whew! I'm long winded!!!!!!!!!
About the pix: In the pix I was hunting along the cut on the bottom of the bank and hit alot of targets- the ring came out of the wet just about 3 feet from the dip.
