First 14K ring & clad

I went to the river today and had a rough day. The good thing is I found my first 14K gold ring with what looks like a diamond. I almost didn't dig it because I was finding quite a few square pull tabs and they rang up as 53 on the DVI and so did the ring. It just had that tone that told me to dig it anyway and I'm glad I listened. I forgot my pain pills and could hardly get out of the water and I got hassled by 3 little boys while their Mom sat at a picnic table and did nothing about it. I don't blame the kids because they haven't been taught to respect their elders or anybody else, but I do find fault with the parents. Anyway, I dug so much trash today and I intended to title this the good, the bad and the ugly, but changed my mind. After I got out of the water, I had a message on my cell phone from a lady in Florida giving me permission to water hunt on her property and she told me there used to be a church on this property and a small cemetery.
I will not go near the cemetery, but the old church and the swimming area off a bridge on her property I will hit it as much as I can. I also will not go back to the river except on the weekdays to avoid anymore hassle. These kids wanted to help me dig my targets and I said no thanks and they were throwing freshwater mussels at me and hit me in the back with one. Everywhere I went at this site, they followed me and the mama just sat there like a bump on a log and I got very uncomfortable. A little mischief I can understand, but they really aggravated me today and I thank God I didn't lose my temper.

I found 11 coins: 4-quarters, 2-dimes, 1-nickel and 4- pennies.

I'm waiting to hear from a lady in Colorado about another place that used to be a recreation area with swimming and hope she gives me permission.

om the land of the Bluenose.....a most awesome day and cudos for the way you thought and handled the young ones. Feel your pain at forgetting the pills. Good luck on your next swish and dig. I'll be cheering you on from here in a pained daze!

Hope you're feeling better, Leslie. One of the coins I found was my first silver of the year. A 1962 D Washington quarter. I was just so tired, I didn't check them with my magnifier.

Nice gold ring.
Your hunt was spoiled by those ankle bitters
i know what that's like.:argue:
I usually leave and go back when theres no one around.:surrender:

I'm going early in the morning from now on. The park opens up at 8 am, but one of the people I talk to who lives next door says I can use his yard to enter the park at daylight. That's about 6:10 am and the water may be a little cooler early in the am, there will be hardly anybody there until 10:30-11:00 am. HH

Very nice ring. Maybe I'm nuts, but I dig everything that shows from VDI 45 and up on the AT Pro. I can't differentiate between a pull tab - nickel - gold ring by sound. I guestimate that for every 1000 pull tabs I find gold. May you find many more gold rings!
