Firing up a 2500

Ben,
I have a new 2500, when turning it on, you hold it about 12" above the ground and fire it up. Then you are already to go.
I will see tonight if I can scan the manual pages if you want.

Hey Kevin,
I guess I didn't really ask a question (LOL) in my first post. My question was "Why the different startup procedures", one has me hold it near a large metal object and the other has me to just start her up...
Thanks for the response. Please don't worry about posting the scans. I already have both methods <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)">

Hi! Ben,
Just in reference to the comment you made (On the factory owners manual it states you have to hold the coil a short distance from metal when starting it up.), I believe that you are reading it wrong.
It actually says, "Hold the searchcoil at least three feet away from any large metal objects". This is so that the metal doesn't upset the unit when turning on. Hope this helps clarify this.
Regards,
Phil
