Fired up the furnace in the fifth wheel a little while ago. It was 18 degrees in there.

Julie went out to work on her "lists" shes drawing up for the trip. My job was get the heat on, then shut back off. I ran the slide out and back in. Quite a bit of cracking and creaking, (snow), on the way out. 22 more days til we inch our way south.
It was -4 degrees this morning. Clear up to 5 degrees right now. BRRR.
My list is a bit shorter than the wifes. Lets see: 4 detectors, scoops, wet suits, weight belt couple of tanks, BC, mask and snorkel. regulator(s). Snuba outfit. Gold and diamond testers, collecting bag. swim suits.
Oh yeah, some socks and clothes, razors, tooth brush. I'm ready.

Holy smokes! EXTRA batteries!!

use them. I've done that once with my Minelabs. Keep in touch while down there Jim, perhaps we can hook up while I'm there.

I do not have a slide on my camper but you may get less popping and snapping if you wait until it warms up in there before you open the slide unit.

Some of the popping may be from moisture on the seals that has frozen. It may be possible to tear a seal.

As I said, I don't know but I would think it would be much easier on the equipment.

It may take a couple of hours to warm up in there.

Take care and find lots of stuff. Will you have internet access while traveling?

We'll be on line.
The popping and snapping wasn't as bad as I led you to believe, more like crackling, but it all looks okay, (I hope).

We will be staying at the Emerald Coast RV park in Panama City beach. Theres easily half a dozen big beaches close by.
I will be there from Jan 11 to Feb 11.
Would enjoy hooking up with you for some hunts.
Do you know ozzie Osborne who posts on Surf and Sand? He will be in the area, and has offered to show me some places.
This is NOT "the Ozzie Osborne", but I'd rather hunt with this one than the big star.

Fired furnace on my 5th wheel today also. We are going to Gulf Shores, AL to meet friends. I am taking detectors but I think all the relocation of the sand may keep us from finding much.

on thru the winter. We go to my daughters in Charleston, SC and then on down to Cedar Key on the west coast. Thats over from Gainsville but smack on the water. I just ran it on Street & Trips and its 322 miles or about 6 hours drive. Lets touch base again about mid January and my dates will be more firmed up. We are not coming back north, we are headed to New Mexico and AZ, then on up thru Utah and into Oregon and Washington State to a few of my buddies places. Trying to give my son as much time here as we can before we leave as we will not return till July 1st.
