So far so good... the wind has been uncharacteristically from the North [Usual from the south at this time of year] so the fire is headed away from us. Give time, they may get a handle on it.

It is now about 250 acres


1-1 1/2 Km South of Edgewood (N50245)

Location: Approximately one and a half kilometers south of Edgewood B.C.

Size: 90.0 ha (estimated)

Cause: Under Investigation

Status: Active

This is not an interface fire.

Details

This fire was first reported at 1:43 p.m. on July 17, 2008.
The fire is NOT threatening any structures or highways at this time.
Today crews will continue to lay gaurd on the northern flank of the fire(closest to the community.)

At this time, the fire is burning in a SW direction away from the community.

The wind is currently blowing from the north.

A fire information officer is in the community to answer further questions as of July 19, 2008.
