Dude! I just saw that pic over on Zerohedge and thought the same thing! 
Can you imagine? I think a guy has to stay in the water and have some big friends come down and stay with you and hunt at night so as not to get robbed, but still, if a group of us went...Oh the possibilities!
Look where that big group is all concentrated in the shallows of that cut...

Was in Jamaica a few years back did some in a public beach never again.
Would do some an all inclusive resort though.

A resort beach tied to a private beach and a public beach all tied together was the place I detected.
The resort beach had a partial fence guarded by private guards accessible only to the patrons.
Waiting at that fence were large gold chained drug dealers selling their stuff to the resort people.
I could hear them saying out loud those northerners ( Canadian /US ) detectors coming to steal our gold.
Did do some detecting about 20 min looking over my shoulder wondering what's next.
Found some salted coins in the sand gave them to private beach keeper.
Decided to put the detector away and enjoy the sand and surf. Comments like those usually
translates into deeds..If I'd had a couple more guys there with detectors that would be a go..
Would I detect again in that area ,yes in the all inclusive resorts guarded by private guards.
done in late evening or before sunrise.
