Took these pictures today at the fire station in Converse, Texas, a small city just East of San Antonio. The firemen at this station are super nice, friendly folks, and they let me feel welcomed to take pictures. Kelley (Texas) :)

Every few yrs in the local newspaper there is an article about the city purchasing new fire trucks, and I always like to see the prices that go with a certain type of truck. From what I remember from a few yrs ago, the city I used to live in paid about $250000 for each truck like the one in the second photo.

Another bit of info that might interest you is that out in the country here in CA, in order to more efficiently fight wildfires out in the grasses and forests they mainly use firetrucks such as the one in your second photo. The reason for this is because of its compactness, and its overall better use for off-road. Now, with that said, the trucks they use over here have a higher ground clearance.

Once again, very nice subject and photos Kelley!
