Fire opal ring this am

Hit a soccerfield complex at pre-sunup. Got two Q stacks that hit a hard 92, sniped up a little over 3 bucks scattered clad, swinging wide and moving fast.. a very clean field. Got 2 rings, one junk and this one! It rang in as a copper penny in the 73 realm. A little 925 with this gorgeous green opal in it. (Wife got this one too)

Coil hopping works really good in deep grass by the way...just gently and somewhat quickly tap the coil over a target once you hit it, instead of sweeping side to side...the level of sound change on the upside of the hops tells you how deep it is...exactly the same arm pattern a guy uses jigging gills through the ice, real gentle quick hops, then stoop and stab. No need to PP, it should be right dead under the center of the coil, or in a straight line with it. The TID will change, but the strength of the signal is what you want, try it, sure makes stabbing 3" deep or less targets in deep grass and sod quick.

Another great find, Mud, but you gotta get a new camera.

Id sooner get a new camera than stay off the sauce! its a phone camera that I use...tried to get this shot through a jewelers loupe without success from the looks of it and all the wonderful feedback from you photophiles!!
Mud

Lol...isn't that funny how the girls swipe those rings... When I was water hunting Grand Haven last summer, my wife and girls would always raid my finds when I got back on shore...... Nice looking ring!

daw gone thats nice

Or maybe Mud needs to put his glasses on when he uses that camera,
