Hit this park with 2 ball diamonds and soccer field. Started on the ball diamonds and had to move off both as teams came in to practice on them. Moving towards the soccer field and noticed a volley ball court. The sand was piled on the side of the court. I thought I might as well try it. All but 4 of the pennies where found in the volley ball court. I had to leave before I could detect the whole court. I know I left a lot of good targets in that volley ball court. Wanted to go back today but rain. Maybe get it tomorrow. Thanks for looking and Happy Trails....Z

Nice hall, I always stick to the soccer and parks until I get a good feel for the new detector.

I think it's a natural train ground for new detectors.

Sweet haul Zee P.S. U know that thing is water proof right LOL. Got my pro last night gonna take some getting used to , I do like the 70 display better and already bumped the elim button testing in the back yard while pp. ing. Hh stryker

HDJ I like to try a new detector in the sand/woodchips to get used to it because I usually dig all targets. Much easier to dig in the sand/woodchips. I tried the AT in the tot lots a few times but using the 11" coil next to a pole doesn't really work that well. I don't have the 4" coil. Don't really like those little guys. I have been digging in the park and mostly digging high tone signals. This is a far cry from the way I have always got used to a new detector. I have already picked up 373 coins with digging mostly high signals. I have recently started digging the 50-53 signals looking for nickels. 11 nickels so far. I have got a good start on this season and it hasn't been very good detecting weather here.
UpNorth the reason why I quit was, I was just plain tuckered out and couldn't get down anymore. I had to leave all kind of good high signals that were just ringing out at me when I swung the coil over ground I hadn't detected yet. I just didn't have it in me to go much more. I am glad it rained yesterday because goofy me would have been out there again as sore as I was when I got up yesterday. Today I feel pretty good and it is supposed to be mid 50"s and sun.
Styker I loved the 70 but after only a few hunts my AT which was supposed to be a back up detector became my main detector and sold the 70. So AT is the only detector. I look for trash areas. The AT works great in trash even with the 11" coil. It is a very good detector and yes it is water proof and I have been detecting in pouring rain with it. My AT is so dirty that it looks like I have had it for years instead of months. Mud caked on it all over the place. I never used my other detectors like I use the AT. I am not planing on trading it or selling it so it is mine to use and I mean really use in anyway I feel like using it. I know it will hold up to what ever it is expected to do for me. I think you will find that the AT is a real work horse and will do what is required of it. Thanks for reading . Happy Trails guys.....Z

ZEEKEY......I use the 11" coil in the tot lots....I just turn the sensitivity down all the way and it works pretty good.I can get close to the pipes ?
