All i can say is this is WOW...thanks to everyone for the help...! Just got back from 1 hour dry sand beach hunt to test her out...here are my finds for the evening....! All came from heavy trash area were a dredge has been dumping sand from harbor and bulldozers are spreading it out....ill be back there tomorrow....!

Looks good BB..has to be one of the first xcal II's done........Man, I can not keep my coil wire and all that neat...I don't know how you guys do it....................

I love my remote switch. In the top two modifications that I would say are needed to make the Excalibur the best it can be. The straight shaft is #1 followed by the remote switch.

If you haven't done the remote switch, you really don't know what you are missing.

Great job!

Hey I responded in another thread on this and want to do the mod but I don't know where to get the minelab cap with two threads, o ring, and waterproof connectors.

Great job and I hope to do mine soon.

MT, Not many ops to finding the endcaps so I'm having some made, I was hoping for the end of January, but it's March and I just talked to the connection this weekend and said his vendor is still buzzy with there regular customers.......So I'm hoping by the end of April? I have everything needed for the kit, O-Rings, Pig Tails...just need the endcaps...I'm selling only to FindMall Hunters and the price will be what I have paided for per endcap..I'm guessing for the O-Ring, 2 Heyco Pigtail, and the Endcap..about 30.+ shipping..I have 2 different O-Rings, Silicon (Red) and the EPDM...

That's sweet, how much would you charge to do that to my excal?

I was thinking the exact same thing.... I don't think I could tackle this job, too many things to go wrong......If anyone would do this for me, send me a pm... I will gladly pay for a remote pp switch.......

Oh ok. I will definitely purchase the complete set up when you have the caps done. I see your offering two types of o ring, what is the difference?
Thanks for the information and I can't wait to add this mod. Let me know if you need my email address so we can work out payment details etc. Also I don't mind paying extra as you have put your own time and effort into having these made and deserve compensation for that.

I'm not quite ready to do these yet, still learning the possiblites and the best parts for the job. So far the few that I have done have had no problems except one, the IP68 switch shorted out causing it to stay in discriminate, I have solved that possibility, more testing this summer, hopefully with new made for, endcaps...I can tell you this about the convert mode................It turns the excalibur into a aggresive hunting machine, giving you more info on every swing. You will know the shape of the target, the depth, targets that were once masked by iron next to them, you will know to check both, Running PP will get you more depth (wetsand to knee deep), Also by know where all the targets set you can form a detailed target lane..........Plus if your like me, you can Cherry Pick when the hunt time is limited, or there are fresh drops to be found with lots of competetion. Some may disagree but I believe you can cover more area, with a faster swing in the PP mode and still retain the deeper then discrimate mode.....

For right now... I would recommend Mel Parker or Davespen

O-Rings, ML uses Buna....I will give each person a choice...Both are excellent for saltwater...........silicons were more expensive but the epdm's seem to have the edge...........chart
