Hi all, have spent the last couple of afternoons at a site in town where three old cottages have been demolished to make way for some new buildings. The developers took about 6 inches of top soil away and then levelled the site but I still managed to find a few coins.
A couple of clay marbles, a hand full of 1 and 2 cent pieces, a 190? English penny, Australian pennies 22, 23, 38, 44, 53 and 60. Half pennies 11, 13, 41 and 42. A 1914 shilling and 1923 threepence. The two lapel badges are from the All For Australia League which was apparently some type of patriotic organisation of the 1930's. Have a bit more ground to cover yet. HH...Ken

What wonderful find Ken. I also have found a few of those clay and blue marbles. Did you know that to a collector, the small blue marbles are worth about $5.00 each, the large of the same type are worth around $20.00. Angela:)

Looks like some good stuff. Yeah, too bad didn't get there before they took the soil. Good luck.
