Find's Today after a brief Search in the Park

Its been a while since I have found silver quarters.Today there was a lot of work to do so I limited my search for about a hour and a half. I hunted in an area around a tree that I've searched with five other detectors. The CZ3D produced three faint two way signals they weren't crisp it sounded like can slaw.I thought about on passing these targets and avoid digging aluminum trash. After removing a plug on the first target it gave that crisp round tone, and down about seven was a 1959 silver Washington Quarter.Another foot from the first target same response from the CZ and again about six inches down a 1957 Washington Quarter. The last signal in the small triangle of targets was a early 60's penny. What I find interesting is the fact that I've been over this area. And yes I THE GREATEST COINHUNTER OF ALL TIMES had missed these targets. The group that I'll hunt a park with are only finding silver dimes. One of the other coin shooters and I were asking where are all the silver quarters? After these finds I think most of us don't realize a silver quarter will produce a target smaller than the wheat pennies that we find. Ron

I though I was the greatest coinhunter of all time! Sometimes the ground conditions make a big difference as well as your mood and what detector you have. It's funny cause I hunt with my son and if we find a coin in an area that we have extensively searched I say "How could we have missed that?" He will just sigh and shake his head as if to say " Dad, you have a lot to learn."

Nice job on the quarters. Bet that made your day.

Mirage,I think you're right mood is a factor that too many of us over look.Tell your son we all have a lot to learn and hopefully not from our mistakes but from the misfortunes of others. Two silver quarter's is a good day for me.I probably found at least 15 wheats around that tree and had a hunch that silver coins where there waiting to be found.
