It was cold and windy. The ice flow was just past the deep water. I found several troughs and worked them like mad. I first used the Garrett Mark II, but after constant signals, and pulling up junk, I switched to my DetectorPro Wader and used some discrimination. What a blessing! Here is the junk.......the funny thing is, is that I will repeat this cycle for the next 6 months, 20 pieces of junk for each coin. Every once in a while, a ring gets tossed into my scoop. But not today.

Of course I didn't get skunked either. I made some $$$. A couple of weeks ago I would have stated that at least I paid for the gas.....but not today
What a great hobby. Windburn on my face and a sunburn on my arms. A good nights sleep is on its way soon. Dang, gotta work tomorrow.

Nothin like watching a good Western !

That key is from Davey Jones Locker ....theres more coins out there!

Very nice outing...love finding clad.

Maybe you can help me.....whats the best way of cleaning silver coins? I have a real hard time with crusty coins.I know your not suppose to use cleaners on silver...does electrolysis pit the coin?

For silver coins, I bath them in my ultrasonic cleaner in a solution of:

1/4 Mr. Clean
1/4 liquid Ammonia
1/2 Water

or, you could try a soak in water with 1/3 vinegar for a couple of hours, then using your thumb, rum the tarnish off with toothpaste.
