It's been since mid-June since I have posted any finds on this forum. So what I'll do is start here with the coins I found here at an old large 140 year old park in the city I live in here in central Illinois.
The old mercs were 5-6in. average depth. One odd find with the 1942 merc is that it was in a small coil of scrap wire and produced a 23-44 signal. I dug the signal anyway and it paid off. The 1898 O Barber was deep. Face up and 8.5in down. The other two barbers were 6-7in. roughly. Nice "wing-wing" sounds in the headphones.
The 3 cent piece produced a 12-29 reading along with a "scrape" sound. Dug it up along with a bottle cap and a whiskey bottle neck. Surprisingly 5" deep. I've only found 2 of this type and 1 nickel 3 cent piece. I didn't realize how really much smaller it was than the half dimes I found in here over the years. Rare to dig these. I might add the other silver piece was found was with a White's 6000 D Series 2 bout 30 years ago in the same park.

The indian heads produced 12-36 readings as usual, neither deeper than five inches. One buffalo is a 1913 D, the other, no date. Got a 1884 V nickel too. Still need the 1885, 1912-s and the 1913 which is too expensive. None of these coins were more than 5-6" down. These were found in the same park too.

The old barber quarter shown here was found in an old school yard here in town. Sweet soft sound, nice pitch. Dug out at app. 9in. slightly sitting at an angle. I've hunted this area over the years at 50 time. Kind of shocked me. The rest of the silver dimes came from ball diamonds, old building lots, fairgrounds, and lots of parks here in the county, that I thought were hunted to death. I've hunted these areas for many many years and this E-trac machine keeps finding good coins anyway!
