Finds in 1700's yard with F75 :detecting:

I got permission to hunt the property of an old estate that goes back to mid or early 1700's (forget the exact date). The owner had a son with an interest in detecting, so I let him use the T2 after he hunted with me & got the hang of it. He was floored to be finding musketballs, wheaties, & a silver barber quarter. I ended up with some nice finds as well......
I dug a tribe of Indian heads. The best one is an 1868.

A smattering of relics from different periods surfaced. Here's an Post Civil War uniform button, 1830's flat button, & a silver thimble I dug.....

Finally at the end of the day, I was able to get into an area with come 1700's items. Here is a 1740's British copper coin, next to a 1700's knee buckle (like from the knickers).

I also dug another shoe buckle & gave it to the property owner. I gave the kids the indian heads, and all the musketballs & everything to start a collection. They insisted I take it all, but I only came home with the knee buckle & copper. The owner said I could come back anytime, which is great as I think he said there's like 17 acres there:yikes: So it pays to help the kids and offer most all your finds or at least a split to the owners.......
Thanks for looking,
HH,
Bill

Always like hearing about young people getting into the hobby. Great looking Indians too

Great hunt Bill and seems that you had a positive influence in a youngster's life to boot. Good for you sir!
