hello all. it was a 65 degree day, so olddigger and i headed out to the beanfields of dinwiddie co. once again. i dug up some rivets, 3 flatbuttons, several sharps, a crushed thimble, my third henry from the site with the "b" marked base recovered 6 ft. away. the nice enfield was a surprise; i haven't dug one in a while. there's also an odd sized brass ring. the horse harness pieces were a surprise too, a larger piece won't fit on my scanner so is not shown. all the pieces were found in the center of the field in an 8' radius, and were DEEP. it may not be cw era, but the pieces were interesting so i've cleaned them up since, preserving and encasing them. as you might well know, deep brass will get your attention real quick!
the finds are starting to dry up, and spring planting is around the corner. but, no worries - we have several other prospects to look into. all good things must come to an end sooner or later. thanks for reading and looking, and good luck!
