Finds from Virginia...

Plenty of bullets and buttons plus a first for me: iron cannister shot. You have to be in all metal for these. They read just like nails. But the ground was clean all around them so it was no problem finding them.
I think the Navy button was my best find, Scovill Mg. Co. 1850-1865. Lots of gilt still on it.
Some of the eagle buttons are in good shape but some are crumbling.
I found 6 dropped minnies in one hole with a knapsack J hook.
The brass leaf thing is part of a trigger guard, probably pre Civil War.
Thanks for looking.

I will be back in my hometown of VA this weekend and will be taking my detector back to hit some of my relic sites... I always find great CW relics there! Since moving to GA last year the relics are harder to find here because you have to be willing to climp mountains...ha

Man you had a good hunt, nice stuff. There was plenty of Civil War activity around NC where I live but it sure is hard to find anything around my town, its been hunted hard or you can't get permission
