Finds from Paradise

I read the posts on re-sizing pictures and finally did it. I had a week in Paradise last May and in 6 days of detecting found 6 gold rings, some silver rings and the bracelet in addition to 1785 coins totaling $235+. Many of the coins and most of the gold were visually sighted and picked up. The only rings that were detected in the photos are the two wedding bands The ring with diamonds is 18k and the stone is a cracked jade. I can't post more pictures of other finds. One day a man approached me to suggest that I move down the beach from where I was because he had picked up a handful of coins. I hesitated moving because I was doing fine where I was, when I did move I started getting so many signals that I had trouble pinpointing, while there I saw the glint of gold and pulled it up and put it my pocket, shortly after there was more gold in the same spot so scooped it up and into the pocket as well not knowing what I had. A few minutes later I saw the ruby ring rolling down the sand in the surf so scooped it up and headed back to the hotel. Upon checking later, I found that the first find was the bracelet, the second handful was the earring and the herring bone ring together, so in about 15 minutes I had 4 gold finds and none with the detector. That day in five and a half hours detecting I found 480 coins totaling $55.50 in addition to the gold. I logged all my finds by day but won't bore you with details the pictures tell more of the story. I snorkeled and found $46.00 in bills and a pair of Dolce Gabanna sun glasses worth several hundred dollars. My daughter's friend detected with me and for a first time hunter, found a little over $78. The water was too rough to go out past your knees, so will have to keep the location a secret until I can get out deeper. SORRY! I have never had such luck in so short a time. Thanks for looking. Lloyd

Lloyd, was this beach in North America? No need to say where, just curious if there is such a beach still left in our part of the world.

Everything was 14k except the green stone ring was 10k and the jade stone ring was 18k. Bracelet was 14k and all ice is real!

The beach was on a Caribbean island off the East coast of the US. Lots of tourists depositing more each day! Lloyd

Likely that would leave Cuba out where detecting is not allowed:laugh:

WOW rid nice Loot!!!!!!! Do you use a PI unit on the Beach???

Have spent time on this beach off and on since we sailed our boat there in 1996. Got a Garretts PI in '96 and used it along wjth a Whites 6000 di and in '98 was there on our boat for a month during which time I spent two to three hours a day looking. For the first while I had little luck, but started finding rings while snorkeling. The surf was rough for detecting and sand was being washed away and things were visible on the rock bottom. First find was a UNC basketball championship ring from 1987, the first year with Michael Jordan, not his ring, I sent it to the owner who was marketing manager for the Houston Rockets in '98, he promised Rocket's stuff but I never got anything. During the month I found a pile of coins totaling $530, 20 gold rings, 25 silver rings, 1 platinum ring, 4 watches and a 22k necklace and medal. 12 of the gold rings were found snorkeling, no detector. Used an excal to find the coins shown above. Can't find the pic of the coins. Lloyd
